Seven Tigers were involved in International duty last weekend, with players representing England, Wales and Tonga.

Five Leicester residents featured in England's Summer Series round two clash with Wales at Twickenham stadium.

Freddie Steward and George Martin both started and played the full 80 minutes in an attritional contest with Wales that saw six players, including Steward himself on the hour mark, get sent to the sin bin, as England emerged from the rubble as the victors by 19 - 17.

Scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet also started the match, suffering an unfortunate injury just 30 minutes into the contest.

He was replaced by fellow Tiger Ben Youngs, who played the remainder of the game and help give England stability amidst the chaos of the several yellow cards.

Experienced international Dan Cole also came off the bench with half an hour left in the contest, to add another to his collection of now 101 England caps, helping secure a couple of scrum penalties with his typically excellent set-piece game.

On the wrong end of the scoreline, and also the referee's yellow card just after half-time, flanker Tommy Reffell started and played the full game for Wales.

The flanker was typically tenacious and was on the hunt for his patented turnovers throughout the contest.

Finally, new signing Solomone Kata helped Tonga to a crushing win over Canada.

The versatile back started on the bench but came on in the second-half to help the Ikale Tahi defeat their future 2023 Rugby World Cup group stage opponents.
