Four Leicester Tigers players have been included Scotland's extended training squad ahead of the first-ever WXV competition.

Leah BartlettEva Donaldson, Elis Martin and Francesca McGhie are all a part of the side that will travel to South Africa for the inaugural tournament, which will see them face their hosts, the Springboks, in their opening contest.

Scotland are set to take part in WXV2, where they will also face the USA (Friday, 20 October) and Japan (Friday, 27 October).

Bartlett will look to enhance her stellar reputation at international level, with three tries in her last two appearances in the 2023 Sic Nations, as well as add to her 26 caps for the national side.

Donaldson, Martin and McGhie, meanwhile, will seek to further burgeoning global reputations, with the Autumn's tests a perfect opportunity to do so.

The 32-woman squad, announced yesterday, will look to build on the strong foundations built at the 2023 TikTok Six Nations and take their form from Europe to the Rest of the World.

The team will begin building momentum with a test match against Spain in Edinburgh's Hive Stadium, on Saturday 30 September (Kick-off: 5.45pm).
