Leicester Tigers head coach Michael Cheika has reacted to his side's 33-0 victory over Northampton Saints.

A first-half blitz saw Tigers take a bonus-point win from Cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.

"We played some very good footy in the first half," Cheika said.

"Second half maybe a little bit less efficient with the ball but we defended really well. We've given away some scores this season that we weren't very proud of so we're pleased with the defensive part of the game tonight but that's something that is a continuous work on all the time."

Cheika praised the travelling Tigers support, explaining their voice and energy added to the pressure Leicester piled onto Saints.

"I really think they played their part tonight," he said.

"Particularly in that second half their when things were going against us there, they had two disallowed tries and were coming back at us.

"Our supporters really found their voice. That sort of support, from us to them and them to us is going to be so important for us."
