Oktoberfest is back this Sunday, October 27 as Leicester Tigers face Saracens at Welford Road in Round 2 of the Gallagher Premiership.
Brought to you in association with club partner STIHL, the Bavarian themed matchday will have plenty to offer for fans with live music, German food and a selection of beers to enjoy ahead of the 3.00pm kick-off.
Opening times
The plaza outside the Holland & Barrett stand will be open from 12.30pm with the German Jukebox Oompah Band performing on the main stage, with our matchday marquee open for business with long tables and benches for all.
Activities for the kids
Youngsters can try and guess the code to win Tigers prizes in The Maul, test your reactions with the Batax light machine, see who can last the longest on our rodeo rugby all, or test your tackling skills with the STIHL tackle bag.
For the beer connoisseurs...
The plaza will also welcome a mobile Bavarian bar with three German beers to choose from including Berliner Pilsner 5.0%, ERDINGER Dunkel 5.3% and Ayinger Kellerbier 4.9%.
Berliner Pilsner is a German pilsner produced by one of Germany’s leading breweries, Berliner Kindl Brauerei. This is a premium pilsner made in Berlin which is light with a crisp, spicy bitterness to it.
ERDINGER Dunkel is made from dark malts and has a deep dark-brown appearance with exquisite Hallertau aroma hops. The taste buds detect hints of caramel, nuts and fresh bread.
Ayinger Kellerbier is a traditional Bavarian beer, brewed in commemoration of the brewery’s founder, Johann Liebhard. Its special feature the fine cloudiness and the pleasantly bitter taste.
Bavarian food around the ground
With turnstiles around the ground opening from 1.30pm, bars around the stadium will be decorated with STIHL Oktoberfest bunting and will be serving Bratwurst sausage, hamburg-ers and pretzels at selected units.
Feeling adventurous? The mobile bar and Final Whistle bars will also be stocking Schnapps to keep fans warm ahead of the second game in this season’s Gallagher Premiership.
Fancy dress is encouraged – from lederhosen to the outrageous - with our matchday photographers on-hand to snap some of the day’s best outfits.
Post-match
Resident band Rock Bottom will join the German Jukebox Oompah Band with the marquee, Droglites bar in the Mattioli Woods Stand and ABC and Crumbie Bars in The Breedon Stand remaining open.
