Julian Salvi says he is looking forward to helping the Barbarians celebrate "a moment in their history" at Welford Road this Tuesday.
Leicester Tigers host the Baa Baas in an historic clash, which forms part of the invitational team’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill says he will play his strongest available side in order to the fixture and the occasion justice.
Salvi, the current Goldsmiths Player of the Month, will be part of the forward pack with the likes of Mathew Tait and Owen Williams set to feature in the back line.
And Salvi says he cannot wait to be involved in his first Barbarians fixture.
“It’s a massive occasion,” he said. “It’s their 125th anniversary so it will be a great occasion for the Barbarians and the Tigers. They bring a fantastic brand of rugby so that should make for an entertaining evening and a good spectacle.
“It might be a friendly but when you get out on that field and you feel that first hit you know what the game is all about.
“This is my first occasion being part of a Barbarians game and I am really looking forward to it. They are a famous name in rugby, their celebrating a moment in their history and I am looking forward to the occasion.
“The Baa Baas style is to throw the ball around, entertain the crowd and have a craic. They get a first hot out against the Wallabies before the main event at Welford Road on Tuesday!”
