A team from Stamford Rugby Club Colts came out on top against The Ultimate Big Boot at Welford Road on Friday.
Sponsored by De Montfort University, the Ultimate Big Boot allows groups to show their skills in front of a big crowd, challenging them to catch balls fired high into the sky as part of the half-time entertainment.
In front of a 23,800-plus crowd at Welford Road during half-time in the game between Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons on Friday, the Stamford Colts made four catches to the two from their rivals on the evening. But they finished some way short of the season’s best figure of eight set by Old Laurentians RFC.
