George Martin and Dan Cole have been included in the England side to play New Zealand in Dunedin on Saturday (July 6).

Martin starts in the second row, while his Leicester Tigers teammate Cole is named among the replacements for the first of two Tests against the All Blacks.

The match will be the 14th international appearance for Martin while Cole, if used, make his 114th appearance and in doing so, equal Jason Leonard as England's second most capped men's player.

Speaking ahead of the match, England Head Coach and former Tigers boss, Steve Borthwick said: “It doesn’t get more challenging than playing New Zealand at home, but it’s exactly where we want to be. We want to find out more about ourselves and test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world."

“Test rugby is a game of fine margins, so our mindset is going to be very important on Saturday. We’ll need to be mentally strong, play a tactically smart game and ensure we maintain our discipline.

“The Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin is a great venue with a quick surface, and the closed roof should make the atmosphere very special.”

Fellow clubmates Joe Heyes and Freddie Steward, who are a part of the touring party, have not been selected.
