Ellis Genge praised Tigers' character after coming back to take a bonus-point against Wasps and called for them to replicate the second-half performance in the coming weeks.
Genge won plenty of plaudits for his performance against Wasps as he helped Tigers fightback for what could be a valuable match point after being 19 points down early in the game.
Now, as attention switches to Europe’s Champions Cup, the loosehead prop wants Tigers to build on the second half and produce an 80-minute performance.
“We were flying in the second-half but we didn’t get the result and that’s what we’re here to do,” said Genge. “We have a lot of positives to take away and bits to iron out. We showed good character to fight back.
“We had 10 minutes where we conceded 12 points and the final score was 22-16. You take away those and it’s a different game.”
Genge is set for his first game on the road against Top 14 opposition when Tigers make the trip to defending French champions Racing 92 in Paris on Saturday evening.
“It will be a different experience,” he said. “We are still looking to get out of the group. We possibly need some results to go our way but we will concentrate on what we can control.
“We will go over there with some confidence and try to put on a performance for the fans and try to make it happen.”
