Leicester Tigers’ global partner clubs in Dendermonde and Kuala Lumpur share an update of their season so far.
Dendermonde RFC
It’s top spot for all three of the Dendermonde senior sides in Belgium this season as the men’s, reserve and women’s teams lead their respective leagues.
Dendermonde’s senior side’s chase for the league title continues as they sit six points clear in the Belgian Elite League Division One.
The club suffered only their second defeat of the season in the 12th round of fixtures, losing 15-18 against La Hulpe but will look to build on wins in January and February in their charge for the title.
The reserve team are top of the Division One Reserves League at the end of Round 11, though just six points separate the top five in the table, with Dendermonde II a point ahead of La Hulpe II.
The women’s team known as the ‘Gazelles’ galloped to another win to end February with 49 points out of a possible 50 and are now 10 points clear of second-placed Boitsfort.
KL Tigers
KL Tigers youth teams celebrated the end of February with silverware following some great team performances in a tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
The KL Tigers Under-14s were Plate champions, while the Under-10s and 12s were the weekend’s Cup winners. In the Under-16 age group, KL fielded two teams with Team B coming out as Shield winners and Team A lifting the Cup.
The club is currently looking to raise funds and sponsorship for their annual Rugby 10s tournament.
Attracting around 140 teams from around the region, the tournament offers an excellent platform for boys and girls to compete internationally. Support is greatly appreciated and if you’re interested in getting involved, follow the link below.
