The Leicester Tigers squad for the inaugural WR5s Nationals competition has been named.

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby have introduced the competition as a meeting of the nation's elite teams, who are set to battle over two separate competitions: the cup and the shield.

Held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, Leicester will compete in the cup competition against five other teams: Help for Heroes, North East Barbarians, Penrith Pumas, Solent Sharks and East Midlands rivals Northampton Saints.

Leicester come into the competition in strong form, having triumphed in Poland's European Championships last weekend.

The Tigers squad is captained by Tom Folwell, who won his 50th cap at the European championships as well as being named best "Low Point" player of the weekend.

Laurence Ball, internally awarded the side's MVP in Poland, will be achieving the 50 cap milestone himself this coming weekend, in the second round fixture against Solent Sharks.

Asked about reaching 50 appearances, Ball replied "I feel honoured to have already made 50 appearances for the Tigers.

"I love the sport and look forward to the next 50 representing this amazing club!".

Both Karl Major and Alfie Vaughan will be making their senior Tigers debut having regularly featured for the development side, the Swifts.
