Leicester Tigers renew rivalry with the Barbarians at Welford Road this evening in an historic fixture as part of the invitation club's 125th anniversary. Kick-off is at 7.30pm and match tickets will be available up to kick-off.
The Barbarians opened their autumn tour with a thrilling match against Australia at Twickenham on Saturday before heading to Welford Road. Their squad is led by World Cup winner Sir John Kirwan and includes international players from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Samoa, Scotland and Canada as well as former British & Irish Lions prop Matt Stevens.
Please note this match is not included in Tigers season tickets, but match tickets are still available in all areas.
The Tigers ticket office is open all day Tuesday. Call in or phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) to book your places. Or click here to book online any time.
All ticket collections are from the Collection Point on the plaza outside the MET-Rx Stand, and not from the ticket office. Please allow plenty of time for ticket collections and to get to your places in the stadium ahead of kick-off.
The Barbarians have a link with the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and there will be an opportunity to make a donation to the charity. There will also be a minute’s silence in advance of kick-off in remembrance of servicemen and women who have lost their lives in conflict.
A special souvenir match programme includes Barbarians memories from former players including Richard Cockerill, Ben Kay, Peter Wheeler, Geordan Murphy and Rory Underwood, as well as a flick through the pages of history for previous Baa-baas meetings. The programme is on sale throughout the stadium, price £3.
The Tigers roadshow vehicle, known as The Maul, hosts the Speed Pass Challenge and fan photobooth on the plaza ahead of kick-off, and the Junior Tigers Club VIP area in the MET-Rx Stand is open for two hours ahead of kick-off for young supporters. Membership is free and you can sign up tonight.
Turnstiles and all bars and food kiosks at Welford Road open at 5.30pm and the Tigers Club Store is open all day with the full range of home and away kit, leisurewear and souvenirs. There are also extra merchandise units in the MET-Rx Stand after the turnstiles are opened.
The new 500-page Official History of Leicester Tigers is available to buy in Final Whistle before and after the game.
At half-time one young supporter will face the club mascot in Challenge Welford, and half-time entertainment also includes The Big Boot, sponsored by De Montfort University.
Please note that Arriva’s special matchday bus services are not in operation for this game. Normal service will resume for next Sunday’s LV= Cup match against Sale Sharks at Welford Road.
This fixture is not on TV so the only place to see all of the action is at Welford Road. Be part of Tigers history and join us!
