Throughout the 2017/18 season we have been getting to know our Tigers Family a little better, to find out why they support the club and help to fill the stands at our historic home each home game.
In the latest of our Meet The Family series we chat with David and Jill, who have been Tigers season ticket holders for five years and each time the Tigers are at home make their way in from Coventry to find their seats in the Holland & Barrett Stand at Welford Road.
Previously perched a little higher up on the northern side of the ground, three seasons ago they made the move to Gold Seats in order to be “closer to the action” and admittedly, “to face fewer steps” on match days.
While a favourite player for many is usually easily identified, Jill admits she can’t pick one from the current crop but does still have a soft spot for former Tigers and England fly-half Toby Flood. David, however, admits for him it's the excitement machine Telusa Veainu who he most enjoys watching.
While they’ve only been season ticket holders for five seasons, David has been a passionate fan for half a century after first seeing Leicester in action at Welford Road in 1966 while studying at University.
“It was a much, much different stadium back then,” he said, pointing around the Welford Road pitch at various changes since his debut day as a teenager.
“This stand in particular was much smaller, it has been a big change!”
