The #MeetTheFamily campaign returns for the start of the 2017/18 season, allowing Leicester Tigers supporters to share their stories about their favourite club and its Welford Road home.

To kick off the season, we caught up with the fans at Tigers In The Park to hear about their love for the Tigers.

Our #MeetTheFamily photographer caught up with supporters enjoying the free entertainment and attractions on the opening day of the Aviva Premiership season at Welford Road. 

Adam and Katie Stewart both love coming down to Welford Road and they hope to have a young star in the making:

“I’ve been a fan since I was five or six and it was my dad who brought me and my brother along,” Adam said. “I love the values of the game and our son is obsessed with goal-kicking. As long as someone is kicking, he’s happy.”

Katie added: “I’ve been a Tigers fan for 10 years now since I met Adam. I was even gifted my father-in-law’s 1982 Tigers shirt as a present.”

We also chatted to Michaela Carreiro and her sons Selio and Fabio.

Michaela told us: “I’ve been bringing my boys for two years after we were introduced to Tigers through a promotion at their school. Things like Tigers In The Park are really good for the kids and they love everything about coming along to the rugby.”

“I love watching matches live,” Selio added. “I like the crowd and the loud noises and yelling!”
