New-look Tigers stripes for next season

The green, white and red colour-scheme is unmistakable, but the Leicester Tigers stripes will take on a new look for the club’s home kit for the 2020/21 season.

As exclusively revealed on the club app on Wednesday evening, Tigers have unveiled the playing kit manufactured by new supplier Samurai and featuring the logo of incoming main partner Topps Tiles.

Reflecting a new look to the club in 2020/21 with additions to the coaching team, a playing squad featuring a number of summer signings, changes at boardroom level and a relaunch of the club’s retail operation with suppliers Samurai, the innovative kit provides a fresh take on the Tigers’ traditional colours.

Broad green, white and red stripes run across front and back, with green shoulders and white number plate on the reverse.

The look is completed with white shorts and black socks in an echo of previous generations of Tigers kit.

The shirt collar carries the Tigers values of Club First – Tough – Passionate – Driven, the qualities on which 140 years of history have been built and which will carry the club forward under director of rugby Geordan Murphy and new head coach Steve Borthwick.

As well as the Topps Tiles logo on the chest, the shirt will continue to carry the logo of club partners STIHL, Breedon and Mattioli Woods, with TDT Technology on the reverse of the shorts.

Tigers chief executive Andrea Pinchen said: “The challenge for every new Tigers team is to be able to write its own history to follow all the successes the club has enjoyed since its formation in 1880.

“With new suppliers Samurai, we’ve been working on an updated look for the team so they can ‘own’ the story of their new stripes and take that forward on our journey to success.

“We think the new kit will prove very popular with supporters and can’t wait to see the players and the fans in their colours back at Welford Road soon.”

The opportunity to pre-order online will be available from Monday, July 27, with delivery from the week beginning August 17. The Club Shop is scheduled to reopen before the end of August with social distancing measures in place.

The new shirts will be available in junior (age 3-4 up to 13-14), women’s (UK 8-22) and men’s (small-6XL) sizes. There will also be a collection of training and leisurewear. Look out for more details soon.
