Leicester Tigers make the short trip to Nottingham for round three of the Premiership Cup, with significant reinforcements in Tigers ranks and a potential record-breaking crowd expected at Lady Bay.
The Autumn nations series is nearing its conclusion, and with it the resumption of Gallagher Premiership season looms. There will be no TNT sports cameras at The Bay. No glitz or glamour. Yet, Tigers will bring a side chocked full of first-team talent and internationals. Stars who will pack into the changing rooms, and brave the late-November chill.
The genuine friendships and connections that exist between the clubs will be paused for the 80 minutes. It's pure rugby, and it will be a fierce contest from the off.
Nottingham, under head coach, Craig Hammond, are performing well in the Championship and although the final result against Saints last time out was disappointing, their first-half performance where they opened a 24-6 advantage should tell you everything you need to know about their levels.
Jack Kinder and Ollie Allan start in an experienced Tigers backline, while Nottingham have former Tiger Dan Richardson in their ranks.

- Nottingham are one of the Tigers oldest opponents having first met at Victoria Park in November 1884
- Overall the two clubs have met on 43 previous occasions with Leicester winning 37, Nottingham 4 and 2 games drawn.
- The two clubs have not clashed in an official first team game since the Tigers 32-20 win at Ireland Avenue in March 1997. They have however met nine times in pre-season friendlies since then with Tigers winning seven; just one of those matches was at Ladybay, Nottingham winning there 26-19 in August 2014.
