George Martin - like his Head Coach Richard Wigglesworth - pinpointed the "fight" on show from he and his teammates as the biggest factor in securing a three-point, 22-25 away win over London Irish on Saturday night.
Speaking after the game, in which he was voted Player of the Match and finished runner-up behind Jasper Wiese for Fans' Favourite via the Tigers App, Martin admitted he enjoyed the physical nature of the Gallagher Premiership outing against The Exiles.
"It was a top performance from the boys tonight, showing fight all the way through," he said.
"I think we defended seven lineouts on our own line, which just shows the fight we have in this group. I really enjoyed it out there tonight.
"All i want to do is try my best for the boys around me and shirt."
Martin said the group had spoken in recent weeks about transferring their training pitch efforts into matchdays to do the shirt proud.
"We have been training really hard, knocking each other to bits, and have spoken about not just doing that during the week but also that we have to do it at the weekend," he said.
"There isn't anybody in this group who wants to just tick boxes and feel good about that, we want to do something as a group and keep doing the shirt proud."
