Sir Clive Woodward, director of elite performance for the British Olympic Association and a member of the Leicester Tigers board, has given his support to the Help for Heroes match to be played at Twickenham Stadium on September 20.

The aim of the game is to raise funds for the rehabilitation of injured service personnel who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sir Clive, England’s World Cup-winning coach from 2003, said: “I will be attending the Help for Heroes match on September 20th with my wife Jayne. It's a day I'm really looking forward to and I hope as big a crowd as possible turn up to support such a great cause and raise as much money as possible for our injured service personnel.

"I've returned from Beijing where the Great Britain team won a huge number of medals and arrived back to a heroes’ welcome. They and I would be the first to admit, however, that the real heroes are the ones that serve in Iraq and Afghanistan and areas of conflict around the world. My thoughts are with them and I look forward to meeting members of the armed forces at the game."

Tickets for the Help for Heroes match on September 20 are available from Ticketmaster on 0844 8472492 or http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/. Tickets are priced from £20 for adults, £10 for juniors (under-16), and family tickets for two adults and two children cost £50. Help for Heroes is supported by Investec, Lord Ashcroft and Nintendo.

The Help for Heroes XV includes Lawrence Dallaglio, Martin Johnson, Martin Offiah and Will Greenwood. They will line up against an International XV featuring Scott Gibbs and Jonah Lomu.
