Travelling to Salford City Stadium

Salford City Stadium, Sale Sharks and Transport for Greater Manchester have provided the following public transport services information for Leicester Tigers fans travelling to Friday night's Aviva Premiership game.

Leicester Tigers make their first-ever appearance at Salford City Stadium this Friday when they play Sale (kick-off 8pm).

Avoid the queues into and out of the stadium by making use of the fan bar, which will have drinks offers and music before and after the game, and by using the following transport alternatives:

Shuttle bus services

Park and ride from the Trafford Centre

Trafford Centre Shuttle

Shuttle bus services will operate from STAND 4 of the Trafford Centre Bus Station to the stadium grounds, at the following times:

6pm, 6.10pm, 6.20pm, 6.40pm, 7pm & 7.15pm

There is no booking required for these coaches, however they will be run on a 'first come, first served' basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The return journey is £4 per person and payment must be made at departure point.

Return journeys will depart from the stadium at 10pm, 10.10pm, 10.20pm & 10.30pm

First Bus number 100

This public bus service leaves the Trafford Centre bus station at the following times:

6.25pm, 6.49pm & 7.30pm

This bus service will drop you off on the A57(Liverpool Road) and the stadium is a 5 minute walk from there.

After the match:

A new service will run every Friday, from the stadium layby to Manchester, via Eccles Interchange. This service will depart from Salford City Stadium at 10pm and 10.15pm. (No booking required)

The 67 bus will drop off and pick up on A57 (Liverpool Road) which is approximately 5 minutes walk into the stadium.

  • Leaves A57 to Eccles / Manchester Shudehill at 10.10pm, 10.40pm and 11.10pm
  • Leaves A57 to Irlam train station at 10.10pm, 10.40pm, 11.10pm & 11.40pm

Alternative coaches

The Little B in Sale, will be operating a park & ride scheme to every home match, and parking at the pub is free.
The coach will leave the Little B at 6.45pm.

The return journey will leave the stadium at 10.30pm.

Return journey is £3.40 per person.

Cheapest daily travel is available from any travel shop or railstation in Greater Manchester. Cost is £6.30 for one day unlimited travel on bus, train and Metrolink services.

Travelling by Metrolink

If you are travelling by Metrolink, our nearest Metrolink station is Eccles. The Metrolink runs every 12 minutes from Manchester city centre to Eccles. To travel from Sale via Metrolink, passengers should change lines at Cornbrook. On arrival at Eccles Metrolink, cross the road to Eccles Interchange bus station and get

Metrolink services run from Eccles to Manchester every 12 minutes until 1.08am.

Cycling to Salford City Stadium

If you choose to cycle to Salford City Stadium, there are 12 bike racks located outside the main west stand. Bikes can be chained to these are the owner's own risk. 

Motorcycles at Salford City Stadium

There is a dedicated motorcycle parking area within the main west stand car park. There is no charge for parking of motorcycles at the stadium.

Car parking at Salford City Stadium

As a new stadium, we have legal and moral obligations to encourage as many of our visitors as possible to make use of the various modes of public transport as detailed above. For those customers who have no alternative but to travel by car, our suggestions are:

Barton Airport, Liverpool Road, M30 7SA - www.cityairportandheliport.com
Located on the A57 (across from the stadium), Barton Airport offers approximately 250 parking spaces. These are charged at £5 per vehicle and payable by cash on the night. The stadium is approximately 10 minutes walk.

The Unicorn Pub, Liverpool Road, M30 7BY
Located on Liverpool Road, (A57 Eccles end), the Unicorn Pub offers limited match day parking at £5 per car, cash payable on the night. The stadium is approximately 15 minutes walk away

Eccles Rugby Club, Gorton Street, Eccles, M30 7LZ - www.ecclesrfc.org.uk
Located just off of Liverpool Road, Eccles RFC offer match day car parking. Charged of £2.50 per car, cash payable on the night. The stadium is approximately 15 minutes walk away.

Parking at Salford City Stadium:

Parking at Salford City Stadium is limited. THERE WILL BE NO CASH PARKING ON THE NIGHT OF THE MATCH. Pre-bookable spaces are available by visiting www.salfordcitystadium.com or at the stadium up until 12pm on the day of the match. These spaces are charged at £5 per car and are sold on a first come first served basis.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO PARK AT THE STADIUM YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT UP TO 1.5 HOURS TO GET OUT OF THE CAR PARK.
