Both Aviva Premiership semi-finals are to be shown live on BT Sport 1 on Saturday.Only four of the 21 previous Premiership Rugby semi-final matches have been won by away sides – by Leicester Tigers at Gloucester in 2008, London Irish at Harlequins in 2009, Saracens at Northampton in 2010 and Northampton Saints at Saracens in 2013.
First up on Saturday is Saints v Saracens with coverage from 1.30pm and kick-off at 2pm on BT Sport 1.
Defending champions Northampton have reached a sixth successive semi-final, three of which have been at home. They have taken 47 league points from their 11 home games in the competition. In seven Premiership semi-finals Saints lost the first five but have won the last two, at Saracens and against Leicester Tigers last season.
Saracens have also reached a sixth successive semi-final.
The two clubs have met in seven previous semi-finals in all tournaments, Saints having a slight edge by four wins to three, although Saracens knocked Northampton out of the LV= Cup at this stage in March. Saints have won their last three Aviva Premiership matches against Sarries.
The second semi-final sees Bath Rugby at home to Leicester Tigers. Coverage will continue on BT Sport 1 with kick-off at 5pm.
Bath are in their first play-off since 2010 and The Recreation Ground becomes the 10th venue to host a Premiership Rugby semi-final. Bath are chasing a place in their first Premiership Final since 2004. They have won their last six Aviva Premiership matches and have not won seven in a row since 2009/10.
Leicester Tigers have reached the play-off stages for an 11th successive season with their only loss in the last nine rounds of Aviva Premiership rugby coming at Saracens in Round 19.
