Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team will get their WR5s campaign underway next weekend as the 2024 competition gets underway.
Having finished second in the season's opening tournament, the WR4s, the side will be looking to go one better this time out when they travel to Sunderland for Round 1.
The side will also have the added motivation of defending their title, with Tigers the reigning champions having completed an unprecedented unbeaten treble last season.
If you would like to lend your support, the event will be held at the Beacon of Light in Sunderland on Sunday April 14.
The squad has been named for the tournament and will consist of: Jules Allen, Laurance Ball, Steven Boulton, Nick King, Vicki Ross and Joe Smith, while last season's MVP Tom Folwell set to captain the side.
Tigers are set to compete against:
- Berkshire Banshees
- Help for Heroes
- Northeast Barbarians
- Northampton Saints
The day before, Saturday April 13, the Leicester Tigers swifts Team will be playing in league two.
Having recently emerged victorious in a friendly with the Police, the side are looking to continue building momentum with victory here.
The Swifts will consist of co-captains David Argyle and Andy Rayner, as well as Aaron Clark, Jack Coulson, Danny Higgins, Taylor Gough, Jane Henderson and Ben Wilson.
