Leicester Tigers are excited to announce Wales international Eloise Hayward has joined the club with immediate effect.
The 24-year-old plays at scrum half and made her International debut in 2022, coming on as a replacement against Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Hayward has extensive experience at the top level of Rugby Union, representing the likes of Saracens and Exeter Chiefs and has shone across the breadth of the game. In Rugby League, Hayward helped Leeds Rhinos to reach the 2023 Challenge Cup final whilst in the Sevens game she has represented both England and Great Britain.
Asked about joining the club, Hayward said "I feel really excited to join Tigers!
"It's such an exciting opportunity for me to grow as a player and as a person within a great squad, surrounded by great players and staff. I really want to get stuck in and do my best for the team and make plenty of memories along the way!
"The girls have been incredible, so welcoming and helpful in getting me up to speed. I've had loads of fun with this squad already and its just the start!
"The staff are so energetic and passionate, they love this club. I can't thank both the staff and players enough for how they've made me feel welcome."
Speaking about the signing of Hayward, Leicester Tigers Head of Women’s Rugby Vicky Macqueen said "We are thrilled to be able to welcome Eloise into the Tigers Family.
"Despite her young age she has incredible experience at the top level of sport, her core skills are exceptional and she gives the squad invaluable depth in the key half-back positions.
"Eloise has brought great enthusiasm and energy to training since arriving at the club and we're looking forward to seeing her pull on that famous jersey for the first time."
