Leicester Tigers are excited to announce Canadian international forward Julia Omokhuale has joined the club with immediate effect.
The 22-year-old can play at either lock or in the back-row and made her International debut in the Autumn, coming on as a replacement in Canada's victory over France on the final day of the inaugural WXV competition.
Omokhuale has featured at both lock and flanker in her time as a standout for the University of Calgary, playing across both 7s and full XV rugby.
Asked about joining the club, Omokhuale said "I couldn’t have asked for a better first few weeks with the Tigers. The team dynamic and culture has been fantastic.
"I can’t wait to get on the field and hopefully make a huge impact alongside some amazing players."
Speaking about the signing of Omokhuale, Leicester Tigers Head of Women’s Rugby Vicky Macqueen said "We are thrilled to be able to welcome Julia into the Tigers Family.
"She's impressed us immensely during her short time with the club, showing a real desire to get stuck in whilst her versatility on the field grants us even further depth across both second row and back row.
"Julia has incredible potential in the game and her engine, power and set-piece expertise will all be incredibly valuable to the squad. Welcome to Leicester Tigers!"
