Six members of the Leicester Tigers squad featured in four of the weekend's Rugby World Cup fixtures, including a trio of players in action for England.

On Thursday evening, Julián Montoya skippered Argentina to a 19-10 victory over Samoa to register their first win of the tournament following an opening round defeat to England.

Saturday afternoon saw England - including George Martin, Ben Youngs and Ollie Chessum - take on Chile, which proved a walkover for Steve Borthwick's side against the South American outfit.

Martin, the lone Leicester player in the starting side, played 80 minutes in the 71-0 victory, while Youngs and Chessum were brought on in the final half-hour of play in Lille.

England are now three from three in the pool stages with just Samoa left to play in Pool D.

Later on Saturday night, Jasper Wiese turned out for South Africa in their heavyweight clash with Ireland at Stade de France.

The back rower was at his barnstorming best in 47 minutes on the field with 17 carries for the Springboks in their narrow, 8-13 defeat.

Finally, on Sunday, Solomone Kata started and scored for Tonga in their clash with Scotland which ended in a 45-17 win for the Scots.
