Leicester Tigers will open the new Gallagher Premiership season with a trip to Exeter Chiefs before hosting Newcastle Falcons at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Saturday, September 17.
Details of the new Gallagher Premiership season and Premiership Rugby Cup group stages have been announced today, with Tigers going to the South-West in the first game since lifting the 2021/22 trophy at Twickenham in June.
Tigers Head Coach Steve Borthwick said: “We are very excited for the new Gallagher Premiership Rugby season and the challenges that come with being a part of one of rugby’s most competitive leagues.
“Kicking off our campaign away from home against a quality outfit like Exeter Chiefs will be a great opportunity to test ourselves from the opening round against a side of their calibre, before being back at Mattioli Woods Welford Road with all of our supporters in the second round for an exciting clash with Newcastle Falcons.”
Kick-off dates and times for the opening 10 rounds have been confirmed with broadcast partners BT Sport, with Tigers going to Northampton Saints, Harlequins and Saracens in the opening weeks of the season as well as hosting Sale Sharks, Wasps and Worcester Warriors.
In the Premiership Rugby Cup, Tigers have midweek dates at home to Wasps and Newcastle following a trip to Sale Sharks.
