Leicester Tigers return to Welford Road for the first home game of the Aviva Premiership season on Saturday, September 10 when Wasps are the visitors. It is also Tigers In The Park day with events and attractions for the whole family from 11am up to kick-off at 3pm. Here's our update on what to expect from matchdays with Tigers in the new season:
Supporters should be aware that, since the end of last season, there have been a number of changes to stand naming and branding in line with new sponsorship agreements.
As the club’s new main sponsors, the Holland & Barrett name is transferred from the south to the north (main) stand, the Mattioli Woods Stand is at the Welford Road end and The Robin Hood Stand represents the sponsorship of The Nottingham Building Society at the old clubhouse end.
All turnstiles, including those giving access to the Terrace, will now open 90 minutes ahead of kick-off in all first-team fixtures, not two hours as in previous seasons.
A new matchday bus service will be in place from September 10 operated by Centrebus with routes from Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Oakham. Click here for more details. The timetable will be published on the club website in the days leading up to each home game.
The Fan Radio service, featuring live commentary and referee microphone, will be in operation again for the Wasps fixture. The radios are still available at the Club Store at Welford Road.
The clubhouse end on the Aylestone Road side of the stadium – known as The Robin Hood Stand in recognition of sponsorship by The Nottingham Building Society – now houses the main ticket office and club shop. These facilities are open 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday, while the Store is also open 10.30am-4pm on Sundays and for an hour after the final whistle of all home games.
The ticket office features more space for matchday sales as well as dealing with season ticket sales, advance match tickets and all other ticketing services including Tigers Rugby Camps and supporter events.
Our previous Club Store in the corner of the main stand will now operate as an additional shopping area on matchdays and there are also extra sales units within the Holland & Barrett Stand.
Tigers’ new home kit is now in stock at the Club Store, with the ‘classic’ versions of the shirt and the new alternate kit due in store from September 10.
The Junior Tigers Club with activities for young supporters, including a player appearance and the opportunity to get on to the pitch as a Tigers Cub or matchday mascot, is located in Final Whistle in the main Holland & Barrett Stand.
Tigers have introduced matchday wristbands for junior supporters on which parents can complete contact details in the event of being separated in the stadium. This should provide extra peace of mind for parents and confidence for youngsters inside the stadium. These wristbands are available at the Junior Tigers Club and at many turnstiles.
The Speed Pass Challenge and the Tigers roadshow vehicle known as The Maul, will be located on the plaza outside the stadium and there will be other activities on matchdays.
Resident band Rock Bottom provide live music in Final Whistle after each home game and big screens are in operation to show England international matches live or ‘as live’ if they play on the same afternoon as Tigers in the autumn and Six Nations period.
All home games in the Aviva Premiership, Anglo-Welsh Cup and European Champions Cup are included in Tigers season tickets. There are a number of other benefits too, including priority booking for any knockout fixtures and away games, the chance to purchase England international tickets, Club Store discount every time you shop, the Buyback Scheme if you are unable to attend a game and the Buddy System which allow you to get the most out of your season ticket. Click here for more details, or call in at Welford Road or phone the ticket office for more information.
Any new season ticket holders and any existing season ticket holders who has relocated seats or changed price category (e.g. Young Adult to Adult, or Adult to 65-plus) will have received new season ticket cards.
Tigers have introduced an ‘Early Bird’ match ticket at Welford Road with prices from just £15 adults and £6 juniors. Early Bird seats are in the clubhouse end, with a limited allocation for each home game in league and cups during the new season.
This forms part of the changes to ticket sales policy, with match tickets now released for general sale wherever possible only after kick-off dates and times have been confirmed by the club, tournament organisers and broadcast partners in blocks throughout the season.
Match tickets can be purchased in person at Welford Road, by phoning the Tigers ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2) and online.
If you are picking up any pre-paid match tickets on your way to a game, the Collection Point is based on the plaza outside main reception.
Matchday hospitality for all home games is available to book now. Enjoy an extra special day with friends, family, clients or customers at the home of the Leicester Tigers. Click here for more details.
If you have changed any of your contact details, please inform the ticket office so we can update our records and ensure you receive all necessary information in good time.
