Members of Leicester Tigers Past Players Association were guests at Welford Road for the group’s annual dinner.
Players from generations of Tigers teams enjoyed a pre-match lunch in the Honours Suite at Welford Road before Tigers’ Anglo-Welsh Cup win over Cardiff Blues.
Families and guests also joined the players who enjoyed a question-and-answer session with current players Dom Ryan and captain Tom Youngs in the Honours Suite ahead of kick-off.
Former scrum-half Steve Kenney, who made 361 appearance for Tigers between 1975-90, is chairman of the Past Players Association and said: “It’s a great chance to catch up with everyone and chat about the old days.
“Most of us ran out at Welford Road when there were the banks at each end and wooden stands, so to see the stadium as it stands now is fantastic and we love coming back.
“The PPA get together three or four times a year at different events and it’s about keeping in touch. We’ve all pulled on the red, white and green jersey at some point so share a special bond and it’s great to celebrate.”
We caught up with some of the past players for a chat with LTTV – keep an eye out next week to watch the video in full.
