Steve Borthwick pinpointed the composure of his players as a key to victory over Northampton Saints in Round 3 of the 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership campaign.
Speaking at full-time, the Leicester Tigers Head Coach said: "I thought Northampton were excellent, especially their start to both the first and second half."
"They put us under enormous pressure at the start of the game and I was proud of the composure from the squad to stay in the game, stay in the fight and work ourselves back to a position from which to win.
"The speed at which Northampton play is incredible and a huge credit to them."
Borthwick's side were penalised just twice in the 80 minutes, compared to Northampton's 15 conceded of which included several at scrum time.
Discussing the dominance of the set piece over Saints, Borthwick said it remains an integral part of the Tigers plan.
"It's an important part of the game to us," said Borthwick.
"We are not going to pretend to be anything that we are not and the set piece is an important part of our game.
"I thought it was good but, like every area of the game, we have a lot of improvement in us and need to keep working hard to see the set piece and our whole game continue to improve."
Asked about whether the performance was the "perfect 80 minute effort, Borthwick quickly put to bed any suggestion perfection was a target of the Tigers group.
"We are not perfect and not looking for perfection," he said.
"We are looking to get better, looking to improve and that is something we do every single day - it isn't just about game to game, it is about being better today than we were yesterday and then better tomorrow than today."
