Shirt auction opens for Poppy Appeal

Figure image
Bid for a signed Leicester Tigers 'poppy' shirt and help the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

Tigers wore an exclusive one-off shirt for the match against the Maori All Blacks this week featuring the club’s traditional letters rather than numbers and also including a poppy emblem in support of the annual Poppy Appeal.

Each player has signed the front and back of his shirt and these will be sold to the highest bidders to benefit the appeal.

You can own a piece of Tigers history and help a great cause at the same time.

The auction begins today (Friday) and the shirts up first are lettered M-A-O-R-I – as worn by Tigers players Matt Smith, Boris Stankovich, Mathew Tait, Kieran Brookes and Patrick Phibbs respectively.

The opening online auction will be open until Monday lunchtime. The second batch of shirts will be submitted for auction on Tuesday.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

The auction is being held at Tigers' official ebay site. Click here to place your bid.
