Leicester Tigers legend and Newark local Dusty Hare will be the guest of honour at the launch of club partner The Nottingham's new-look branch located on 12-14 Bridge Street, Newark on Wednesday, December 19.
William ‘Dusty’ Hare, who made 394 appearances for Tigers between 1976 and 1989, will join members of staff from The Nottingham branch to celebrate the opening.
Hare played for Tigers between 1976 and 1989 and went on to become rugby union’s world record points scorer with 7,191 points – 4,507 of which were scored in a Tigers shirt. With England and British & Irish Lions honours, the full-back is now a scout for Leicester Tigers and helping to bring through the next generation of stars.
An artist’s illustration highlights the modern look and feel of the new branch, which will include a range of advice and consultation facilities and an area that will be available for use by local community groups.
Another new addition is the Nottingham on Demand (NOD) service that enables customers to get impartial, on-demand mortgage advice and comparison via video technology.
Gary Womersley, The Nottingham’s Head of Branch Network, says: “We’ve been in Newark for almost four decades and although we have had many great years in the beautiful and historic Ye Olde White Hart, we unfortunately outgrew the premises. The team are really excited to show customers around our new home, which is spacious and gives us room to grow.
“What will remain constant is the same great service, our team providing face-to-face financial services and rewarding our members that save and prepare for their financial future.
“Our commitment to the Newark community is as strong as ever and we are delighted to have local lad and rugby legend Dusty Hare MBE attending the launch event to help us celebrate the opening of our newest branch.”
Dusty will be at the branch from 10.30am until 11.30am with the event carrying on until 2.00pm. There will be refreshments and a competition to win a Kindle Fire or Leicester Tigers match tickets.
