Tigers players Scott Hamilton, Jeremy Staunton and Ben Woods will be there to prove rugby is the “beautiful game” by having a natural-makeover from beauty queen Miss Leicester, Elki Parmar, who will hand over her crown to the new natural beauty in town.
Shoppers can be pampered during the opening too, with free beauty samples and healthy snacks, 25-per-cent-off discount vouchers, and an exclusive goody bag for the first 100 customers, featuring products from the Dr Organic natural beauty range.
The new store will provide customers with hundreds of beauty products – all free from harsh chemicals such as parabens and sodium laurel sulphates (SLS) – as well as a comprehensive range of vitamins, supplements, health foods and sports nutrition products.
The new Highcross store will be the 625th Holland & Barrett store in the UK.
CEO of Holland & Barrett’s parent company NBTY Europe, Peter Aldis said: “As the leading natural health and beauty retailer we set a new standard by being the first to ban parabens and SLS, allowing customers to know exactly what our products contain. We found that many were confused about whether their beauty products really delivered what they claim, with rivals often using words like ‘natural’, ‘herbal’ and ‘organic’ in their product names and descriptions leading consumers to believe they are free from chemicals when in fact they are not.
“There is a need for transparency within the industry to ensure consumers know exactly what they are getting for their money, this new store will become a showcase for true natural beauty products – and we are confident the proposition will be very successful.”
