It was a mixed bag of results in the final fixtures of the 2024 Autumn Test window for four of the seven Leicester Tigers players who featured for their respective nations.
Throughout the month of international action, nine Tigers players have been on show in the Test arena with Dan Cole and Freddie Steward the two not selected to take part in the final matches before the Leicester squad members return to clubland ahead of a trip to Sale Sharks in the Gallagher Premiership next weekend.
Kicking off on Friday night, Julián Montoya skippered Argentina in their clash with France in front of more than 66,000 fans at the Stade de France in Paris.
After only narrowly losing to Ireland in Week 3, Montoya and his Los Pumas teammates were unable to match the power of the French and went down 37-23 in an entertaining affair.
On Saturday afternoon, it was mate against mate when Wales hosted South Africa in Cardiff.
Nicky Smith, who has returned to international rugby since joining Tigers in the summer, was promoted to the starting side for the Welsh in their mammoth task against the World Champions and lasted 72 minutes against the Springboks.
His countryman Tommy Reffell was added to the game with less than half an hour remaining at nearly the same time Handré Pollard joined the game for the visitors. The win-less Autumn continued for the home team with the 33-point, 12-45, defeat making it three straight in the window.
Pollard, however, enjoyed a perfect Test window with defeats against Scotland, England and Wales for the South Africans.
In the first of two Tests featuring Tigers on Sunday, Will Hurd came off the bench for Scotland in their win over Australia to end the Wallabies unbeaten run in their northern hemisphere tour.
Finally, on Sunday, George Martin and Jack van Poortvliet started for England in their game against Japan. The pair were standouts for Steve Borthwick's side in the dominant display, which helped the national side to registe their first win of the Autumn with a 59-14 victory.
