Leicester Tigers commercial director Andrea Pinchen has become one of four mentors active in a scheme launched by Cambridge & Counties Bank for 2017 which aims to help women develop their careers.
The Women in Business Mentoring Scheme is being launched to provide one-to-one support, guidance and encouragement to a small group of women for one dedicated year.
During the year, mentors will give their time to help women overcome career challenges, work towards goals, and provide advice and support. The scheme specifically hopes to address the problem of confidence within young professional women, as they learn to realise their own potential.
Women from a variety of industries are invited to apply for the scheme by filling in an application form at http://ccbank.co.uk/wib.
A shortlist of entrants will be selected to attend an assessment day and the first participants will be announced at the Enterprising Women Awards event on March 3 at Colwick Hall Hotel, Nottingham. The ceremony is sponsored by Leicester Tigers.
Andrea was named Inspirational Woman of the Year by the East Midlands Chamber at its 2016 Enterprising Women Awards. After spending 11 years in the aviation industry in the United Arab Emirates, she joined Tigers in 2004, initially as ticket sales manager and later added responsibility for the growth of corporate hospitality, advertising and sponsorship. She was appointed to the board of directors in 2014.
Andrea said: “I feel very privileged to be a part of this scheme and hope that I can help other women in business build their confidence and work towards their goals. We’ve all lacked confidence and needed guidance at some point in our careers, and to be able to help someone realise their full potential will be hugely rewarding.”
