Leicester Tigers joined the community celebrations at the 37th Leicester Belgrave Mela festival.
The Mela hosts a mix of live music, dance, fashion, arts, culture and food in the city and Tigers were on hand to showcase just why Leicester is the home of rugby.
Tigers staged competitions for all the family including Fordy’s Kicking Challenge and the chance to win prizes with Welford’s Wheel.
Rugby development office Sam Johnston was at the event to meet visitors and celebrate the growth of the Leicester Tigers Swifts team which provides opportunities for youngsters in the black, Asian minority ethnic (BAME) communities.
The Swifts runs an under-11s team and training sessions in the new season will move to Judgemeadow Community College from Monday, September 9 (4.30pm-5.30pm).
The Tigers Maul, featuring Fordy’s Kicking Challenge and Welford’s Wheel as well as information on what the club has to offer, is on the road again this weekend at the Leicestershire Show (August 24-25). We hope to see you there!
